Travertine has striking textural features and it is valuable in stone industry. Travertine has been a favourite building and decorative stone from preclassical times to the present. It is a precipitate deposited around freshwater springs in shallow marine water. As Travertine is formed by nature, it has variations in the shading, colour and texture. However, these natural variations make travertine unique and highly desirable.
