Marble

Marble is metamorphic rock, which predominately consists of recrystallised calcite and/or dolomite.  Marble develops by recrystallization of limestone under intense heat and pressure. It has a uniform texture ranging from very large to very fine crystals. The colour, veining and shading of marble are governed by various type and amount of impurities during the formation.
